MOTOCROSS
LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS
ROUND 10 / AUGUST 11, 2018
UNADILLA VALLEY SPORTS CENTER / NEW BERLIN, NEW YORK
P56
Musquin was chased by
Baggett and Phil Nicoletti, and
points leader Eli Tomac (Monster
Energy Kawasaki) was eighth at
the end of lap one after starting
mid-pack.
While Musquin led, Nicoletti
(Rockstar Energy Husqvarna)
ran second, and Baggett third,
Tomac caught up to Baggett's
rear wheel only three laps into
while local boy Justin Barcia
(Monster Energy Yamaha) went
down in the first turn and was
slow to get going again. Merriam
held tough out front for the first
little while, but once the dam
broke and Musquin battled his
way by, so did the rest of the
top racers in the field. Merriam
eventually finished 15th in the
moto.

Mud is widely believed to favor
racers from Europe, and often
that's actually true, so it wasn't
an incredible surprise to find
Musquin up front during the rain
and mud at Unadilla. Privateer
Dylan Merriam got the holeshot
in the very sloppy first moto over
Blake Baggett (Rocky Mountain
ATV-MC KTM) and Musquin,
No harm no foul. Eli
Tomac was second
overall with a 1-2 but
matched points on the
day with his nearest
rival, Musquin.
