make the pass stick for a valuable fourth.
Petrucci had never been close enough to attack, but
had outpaced Zarco by better than two seconds for sixth.
He was still less than 3.8 seconds away from the win.
A short way back, the Ecstar Suzukis had been battling
all race long. Then as their tires dropped, Dani Pedrosa
(Repsol Honda) was able to take advantage, passing both
on the last lap. Alvaro Bautista (Angel Nieto Ducati) came
with him, having caught the group in the closing stages.
Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Ducati) had been caught up in
the first-lap tangle, but came through strongly at first from
15th on the first lap, passing Franco Morbidelli (EG-VDS
Honda) and Hafizh Syahrin (Monster Yamaha), and for a
spell also Bautista. But when his tires dropped he couldn't
keep up with the Spaniard, and was a fading 12th.
Morbidelli was safe in 13th, then Syahrin, and closing at
the end was Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) for the last point.
Luthi and Nakagami were next, then Abraham, Suzuki

NO MORE SMOKIN'
Plumes of yellow smoke from small armies
of Rossi fans will become a thing of the
past, if Dorna has its way. A statement re-
leased today blamed "comments by riders
in previous races concerning the lack of
visibility due to the smoke from flares be-
ing ignited during the races." Dorna would
be starting a campaign from race day at
Brno "asking fans to respect the safety of
the riders and refrain from igniting flares
during the races."
