DAVE COOMBS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
T
wenty years ago this month,
the motocross community
lost a legend, one who few of
those attending the Rocky Moun-
tain ATV-MC Amateur National
Motocross Championship at
Loretta Lynn's last week, had the
privilege of knowing. However,
a recent article in Racer X; The
Ballad of Big Dave, provided an
opportunity to get to know this
man who created this event over
37 years ago. Although many of
us did not meet Big Dave, we
have witnessed his big heart
through his family: Rita, Carrie,
Tim and Davey. It is through this
family that his legacy lives on,
a legacy of passion, work ethic
and dedication in the spirit of
racing.
On Track School says it is
honored to announce that it has
been chosen to be the recipient
of a $10,000 donation in Dave
Coombs Senior's honor that will
provide post-secondary students
with funds to continue their
education by enrolling in college-
level courses. Partnering with On
Track School will provide these
students with college and career
counseling and ultimately nurture
a desire for lifelong learning that
will lead to their continued suc-
cess.
Andrea Leib, Director and
Founder of On Track School,
serving the motocross com-
munity since 2005 with educa-
tional solutions and a passion for
student success, is honored to
accept this generous offering.
"I would like to invite industry
leaders to help keep this schol-
arship alive in Dave Coombs
Senior's honor by contributing to
the Dave Coombs Scholarship
Fund so we can give back to the
community that has provided so
much for all of us," Leib said. "Fi-
nally, thank you to the Coombs
families for prioritizing education
so that our racing community
can thrive."
