Renzo held off Jay Newton (AGVSport America Monkey- Moto Yamaha) and Dumas, with Astudillo crashing out on the fi- nal lap while in the leading pack. "I really had to work hard for this win," Renzo said. "It's amazing being here again. I was racing in the KTM Cup in 2016, and I'm really happy to be here in MotoAmerica again. I just think, from now, I'm going to start practicing again and get into the championship again." Dumas leads the series with dropped to eighth place. "I knew that Ashton (Yates) would run a really good race, and I was trying to keep up with Jamie (Astudillo) at the start," Dumas said. "Then, later in the race when Jamie had an error, I stuck with Ashton, and eventual- ly I drafted past him on the front straightaway." Sunday's would be a race that could prove crucial in the championship after Yates was deemed to have jumped the start and handed a ride-through penalty. The Georgian ignored the penalty, was black flagged and disqualified from the results, meaning Dumas would leave Utah with a 48-point lead after finishing the race in third. Renzo Ferreira (31) took a popular win in the Junior Cup. Ashton Yates (22) was DQ'd for not obeying a ride-through penalty due to jumping the start.
