MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 8 / JUNE 21, 2018 MILLVILLE, MINNESOTA / SPRING CREEK MX P64 iii My Own Race: 4 BLAKE BAGGETT 4TH 450MX (3-4) Blake Baggett had a strong day for fourth overall, but was still not quite on the pace of the top three. "I, of course, wanted to get a podium for the overall, but this is definitely a step in the right direction," Baggett said. "I could see those guys most of the moto. Just got to keep plugging away to end up on the podium for the overall. All in all we're taking a step in the right direction. We'll keep working until we're there." 51 JUSTIN BARCIA 5TH 450MX (5-5) Justin Barcia was a little bit off the pace at Millville compared to recent races. "It was a frustrating day, a little bit," Barcia said. "Just didn't ride to my potential. Struggled a little bit with setup. Track was very difficult but I can't thank the whole Monster Energy Yamaha team enough. They worked hard today. It was a difficult track. Just need to better my starts. I was buried in the back. I had good lap times, but starts were not good today." 25 MARVIN MUSQUIN 3RD 450MX (4-2) Marvin Musquin came into Millville with the points lead, but left without it again. "I just tried to be consistent and tried to put in some good laps," Musquin said after the second moto, where he was passed in the final laps by Eli Tomac. "I knew he was there. It was hard not to make mistakes. That first moto cost me a lot, unfortunately. But I was more myself the second moto, definitely. I was pushing hard and I was riding good. More happy than the first moto. That's racing. It's tough. We were good for the second moto; it was definitely better. But yeah, I came up short. Eli was riding really well, but I gave my best. I'm going to miss the red plate, but I'm looking forward to take it back." 94 KEN ROCZEN 2ND 450SX (2-3) "I'm pretty happy with today," said Ken Roczen. "I think this is one of the best weekends we've had overall. I felt comfortable all day and had a lot of fun. I did pretty good in qualifying, got good starts, and felt like I was flying in the first moto, so I'm happy with second. Obviously in the second moto there wasn't enough left in the tank, but we have to just keep building from here. We made another small adjustment on the bike, but nothing major. The team and I are still working to refine the bike because this is my first season riding it outdoors and I came into it without much testing, so I'm searching for what works best. We've defi- nitely made the bike better and I think it showed today. Normally I'm 4-5 seconds behind in qualifying practice and I was pretty close today, so it was good. I'm doing what I can and am enjoy- ing the process of returning. I feel like once we win again, it'll just be that much sweeter."
