X GAMES ROCK MINNEAPOLIS
F
reestylers, high-jumpers and flat trackers head-
ed to Minneapolis, Minnesota for the Summer
X Games, July 20-22, where Moto X events were,
once again, a centerpiece of the ESPN classic.
The Moto X Freestyle, Lifeproof Moto X Step-
Up and Monster Energy Moto X Best Trick were
joined by the new Moto X Quarter Pipe competi-
tion, each featuring different winners.
Tom Pages nabbed his career-first Freestyle
gold, besting Jackson Strong for the top spot. In
the Best Trick category, however, the roles were
reversed, with Jackson Strong claiming the win
with his no handed front flip, trumping the impres-
sive double-backflip no-hander of Pages. In both
events, Rob Adelberg collected the bronze medal.
In the Lifeproof Step Up competition, Jarryd
McNeil took gold after clearing a mind-boggling
height of 43 feet aboard his Yamaha YZ450F.
Libor Podmol and Colby Raha were left to collect
silver and bronze, respectively.
McNeil padded his Step Up win with another X
Games gold in the Best Whip competition. Once
a fan-based competition, Moto X Best Whip was
judge-based for the first time in 2018, but either
Yamaha rider Tom
Pages put together a
winning run to claim
X Games Moto X
Freestyle gold.
