the riders lined up for the start of the
fourth round of the AMA National ChliMpionship Hare Scrambles Series, Team KTM's
Shane Watts had one thing on his mind: wining. And after a rough start to the National
Hare Scrambles Series, Watts was finally able to do just
that at the Emerald Trial Rider Association's Funky Chicken National Hare Scrambles, held at the scenic Big K
Ranch in Oregon. In the previous three Nationals , the
Australian has gone 0-3, DNFing all of them , but at Elkton, he was determined to get that elusive finish and win.
But that first win wasn't going to come easily when you
consider some of the names that lined up on the start
with Watts, such as opening-round winner Brian Garra han, Kawasaki Team Green's Chuck Woodford, defending
champ Jason Raines, and former National Hare Be Hound
Champion Destry Aboott.
When it was time to go racing, it was Woodford who
grabbed the holeshot ahead df Watts and Garrahan . The
three riders battled as they circulated the gt.!$strack
