Pa uley lost tractio n and ended u p with seco nd in th e 500cc class then dropped ' to fifth in the Open Expert fina l. G iving Pau ley a rea l ba tt le wa s Eric Gr een , who fin ished third in the 500cc final but climbed 10 second be hind Da mro n in the Open fina l. Sunday saw Pauley finish first and second in heal race competi tio n but ta ke bo th fina ls, wit h ease. Dam ron was a no -show bu t Pa uley had hi s han ds full with G reen , Perry Lang and Kevin Crowley. Lang rode very well in th e 500cc heal race and came off wit h the win but foll owed Pa u ley hom e in second in the fea ture. Cro wley fi ni shed seco nd in the Open ' fina l and th ird in th e 500cc di visio n. Kelvin Hi ldehra nd a n d h is box-s tock Kawasaki KX500 dominated the 500cc and O pen Novic e classes. On bo th days he was quick ly in the lead , a lways by the end of lap o ne. H ildebrand came away wit h three hea t race win s and three fina l event win s.
