NOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 7 / JUNE 7, 2018 BUCHANAN, MICHIGAN / REDBUD P60 iii My Own Race: 60 BENNY BLOSS 11TH 450 (3-23) Benny Bloss scored his first career podium moto finish in the first moto at RedBud, but had a big crash in moto two when he was running eighth that kept him from scoring points. "I saw that Marvin [Musquin] was coming up on me, like midway through, and I figured maybe some other guys had some issues," Bloss said after the first moto. "I saw Tomac had an issue as well, but man, this is the greatest feeling I think I've ever had and it's pretty awesome, especially to do it here at RedBud. Super, super stoked." 94 KEN ROCZEN 2ND 450 (1-3) Ken Roczen was balked at the start of the first moto, hung up mo- mentarily behind Marvin Musquin when Musquin fell in the second turn. Still, he moved up through the pack quickly, sat fifth at the end of the first lap, then was running second late in the moto when Eli Tomac's bike quit. "I popped out of the rut and my start wasn't that good, but I could make up some ground on the straightaway," Roczen said after the first moto. "Marvin [Musquin] fell in front of me, so we were way buried in the pack, but just made it happen in the first few laps. Obviously, we kind of got lucky with Eli. I don't know what happened, but we were just riding good. We've been working really, really hard to get the bike dialed and everything, so it definitely pays off that you can still win with two half arms. Hopefully do it again in the second moto. Grab a 1-1 would be absolutely amazing..." But that wouldn't be. In moto two, Roczen battled early with Musquin, but eventually lost touch and lost the second spot on the last lap to Justin Barcia. "I gave it a good fight," Roczen said. "Justin got me in the last few turns, but it was kind of getting sketchy a little bit. The track is really gnarly, so I did what I could." 51 JUSTIN BARCIA 3RD 450MX (4-2) Justin Barcia was on the gas at RedBud, grabbing fourth in the first moto after falling in the second turn and restarting well outside the top 30, and then scrubbing his way by Ken Roczen on the last lap to take second in moto two. "I got a little tight in the middle of the race and lost those guys," Barcia said after moto two. "At the end, I found some good lines, pushed a little harder and was able to do it. I just wanted it really bad and wanted to prove that I should be on the Mo- tocross of Nations team this year. This is the place where we're going to race, so have to show my A-game for sure." 46 JUSTIN HILL 6 TH 450MX (10-4) "I only rode practice and the first moto at Southwick, and then took the entire week off from riding," said Justin Hill (JGRMX Suzuki) who suffered a badly cut arm the week before at Southwick and wasn't even sure he was going to race RedBud. "Given the condition I was in with my arm, I chalked up the weekend as a win. I didn't have feeling in my hand until Thursday. Practice didn't go well, because I had been off the bike for so long. Honestly, the suspension guys were the shining spot for me. Every motorcycle was getting thrashed on the bumps, but we made good changes all day. [They] listened to what I had to say and made the necessary changes [to the suspen- sion]."
