"That was probably the hardest fought fifth-place finish I've ever had," said Brad
Baker. "I got a decent jump from the inside on the front row, but there were a lot
of cross-ruts on the bottom and I just hooked one perfectly and the thing came
around on me. Jake Johnson was right behind me and he said I swear you were so
low that your handlebar was in the dirt. I have no clue how I saved it. It just came
around so quick. It must have caught and straightened me back out. I was second-
or third-to-last. I just remember going into turn three on the first lap just completely
blind. I couldn't see anything. I pulled a tear-off as I shut off going into the corner, then I went straight up around everybody
because everybody was down on the bottom. Halfway between three and four I got completely blinded again. Coming onto
the front stretch I couldn't see anything so I completely chopped the throttle and grabbed a tear-off, so I didn't run into the
fence and get back after it. To start off all the way in the back like that, on a track as treacherous as this one, I got tired but
was still able to push. I had energy to dig deep and get into a top five."

"We've been so close a lot this year. It was nice to get that monkey off our back and
get that win," said Shayna Texter. "First win for Husqvarna and first non-Honda to
win Lima. I never thought it was going to happen at Lima. Hats off to my team. Mike
Hacker told me to just go ride like a scared little girl. That's what I did all day. I just
rode like they were hunting me all day. I tried to stay on the gas. It was a heck of a
lot easier to stay on the gas than it was to let off. I put two stacks of Racing Optics
on my helmet for the main event. I wanted to be prepared and I didn't pull a tear
off in the entire main. It was just one of those days that we showed up and didn't
change anything on the bike all day."
