MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 4 / JUNE 17, 2017 HIGH POINT RACEWAY / MT. MORRIS, PENNSYLVANIA P60 R ocky Mountain ATV-MC KTM's Blake Baggett is confident, not cocky. But our sport may have forgotten what it's like to have some- one who actually says what they're thinking, so when Baggett went on the PulpMX Show the Monday after his big win in Colorado at the previ- ous round and said, "I feel like the bike is doing what I want it to do. It's not like I've never won a race before. It's not like I've never passed some- body after the halfway point beforeā€¦ so, I'm at the point of, 'I need the best stuff.' The team has given me a good opportunity to show what I have. It's not like I've never shown it before... Maybe it's been buried and lost and I have to knock some dust off of it, but I think I wiped it pretty clean this weekend [in Colorado]." All racers who are contending for championships have this kind of confidence. All of them. But most won't publicly state it. A big part of the reason for this is that they don't want to give their competition more motiva- tion to beat them. Baggett obviously doesn't care about that, and it doesn't seem to matter anyway, as he went 1-2 at the High Point National anyway to grab his second 450MX National win in a row and take over the series points lead. And in the 250MX class, Geico Honda's Jeremy Martin traded moto wins with Rockstar Energy Husqvar- na's points leader Zach Osborne. Martin took the overall while Osborne still leads the championship. The second 450MX moto gets underway at a revamped High Point Raceway.
