P96 CN III PRODUCT REVIEW REVER APP LIST PRICE: Free or $5.99 a month/$59 a year for premium membership www.rever.com STANDOUT FEATURE: The ability to track every ride and have one place where all your experiences live for later use. For the touring guys, the ability to access all the Butler Maps on your phone, instantly, is priceless. RIDER ANALYSIS: My first experience with the Rever app was on the Husqvarna 701 new model introduction ride in California. We followed downloaded routes for the upcoming two days and that ignited my constant use of the Rever app. I now track every ride. I've turned on quite a few friends to the app and being able to see where and when they've ridden is very cool. Most of my riding is off-road and often exploring a new route or area. More than once I've downloaded one of my pervious routes to follow, ensuring I find the pervious trails I like best. It's also fun to go back and look at your profile, which shows how many rides you've tracked and your total miles traveled. Even without cell service, the GPS in modern phones works, allowing you to track and record data, allowing you to use the Rever app and track your ride. Once back on Wifi, all the tracked info is update to your profile. For off-road riding, having a durable case is key when it is hanging out on the handlebars. I use a waterproof LifeProof case and often leave the phone tracking in my vest pocket. The premium membership gets you digital access to Butler Maps' catalog of roads. In our experience, Butler Maps show you the greatest paved and dual-sport roads for motorcycles in the U.S., with routes everywhere you could need or want them. Also, going premium allows you to go to www.rever.co and download routes as a .gpx or .kml so you can use them in any GPS device. If you have recorded routes from other GPS units, you can upload them to your Rever profile, too. Overall the Rever app has taken the place of a traditional GPS for me. Battery drain is an issue if following a route (more so than simply tracking) so a power source is a good idea. For those who've already discovered how cool Butler Maps are, the Rever app is the only digital access to them, making the premium subscription an awesome deal if you ride regularly. Whenever I'm on two wheels, my Rever app is tracking. Adam Booth Rever is a free mobile app and website system built to connect a global community of motorcycle riders. Rever allows you to easily discover the best places to ride, create custom routes, track your own rides and share it all. The basic app is free with a premium membership option for $59 a year.
