P106 CN III FRIENDLY FIRE BY STEVE BAUER T he twilight of a racer's career is always a tough situation, but for a super- star like James Stewart, the notion of hanging up his boots runs counter to everything he is and knows about himself. In light of his season thus far, it is easy to forget that he won five races in 2014, just before testing posi- tive for Adderall and landing an 18-month suspension for failing to file paperwork in a timely mat- ter that would have allowed him to take the medication legally. Or that it was only a few months ago that he tasted victory (with a side of revenge) at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm, standing along- side his brother, Malcolm, in his glorious return to competition. A lot can happen in a few months, however, and if you are a longtime supercross or moto- cross fan, watching one of the greatest riders in the history of our sport botch getting lapped last week at the Atlanta Super- cross probably made you feel a little bit uncomfortable. I know it made me feel that way. I was there covering the race for this magazine and spoke with both Stewart and Marvin Musquin afterwards. You can read the details of what they had WHEN IS IT TIME?
