W
hen racers enter the twi-
light years of their racing
career, the inevitable, and
often stressful thought of "what's
next?" looms before them. Ac-
complished desert racer Quinn
Cody stood at this precipice
early last year, with little indica-
tion of what would come next in
his life, but after a very eventful
nearly two years, the 38-year-old
Californian now finds himself in
not one, but two very poignant
and influential roles in off-road
racing.
In March 2014, Cody offi-
cially became the first contract
employee of the Kurt Caselli
Foundation, the foundation
formed in the wake of Caselli's
tragic accident in the 2013
SCORE Baja 1000, and was
hired as the Rider Safety Advisor
and Technical Director. Calling
on his experience of four Baja
1000 Championships, Cody has
already played a major role in
improving off-road racing safety
procedures both in Baja and in
the U.S. by serving as the Foun-
