how close Triumph came to win-
ning an AMA Pro Grand National
last month at the Sacramento Mile. La-
tus Motors/Castrol Triumph's Brandon
Robinson led the epic race coming
out of the final turn, but Bryan Smith
was able to slingshot his Kawasaki
past Robinson's Triumph at the last
possible moment for the win. So about
a wheel length at 120 mph is how
close Triumph came to winning its first
Grand National since Brad Hurst won
the Castle Rock TT in July of 1979.
