SRT AMA HARE & HOUND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OFF ROAD ROUND 9, SEPTEMBER 21, 2014 WILD WEST CHEVROLET, YERINGTON, NEVADA P78 STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY MARK KARIYA W hile the title hasn't been decided yet, Ricky Brabec's third victory in the SRT AMA Hare & Hound National Championship Series put him five points farther ahead of his closest challenger, former series points leader Nick Burson, after the pair went 1-2 in the GXE/MRANN/Mason Valley Dirt Squirts Yerington National Hare & Hound, the ninth and penultimate round of the series. THR Motorsports/Monster En- ergy/Precision Concepts Kawa- saki's Brabec now has 223 points with Purvines Racing Beta's Bur- son holding second at 208. Ivan Ramirez remains third in points with 185, but the FMF/ KTM Factory Off-road Racing Team ace found himself unable to recover from a mediocre start and could only manage seventh on the day. Burson's teammate Axel Pear- son rounded out the podium and moved into fourth in the points chase where he has 131 now. Blais Racing Services KTM's Ricky Brabec's (357) day started off well as he grabbed the $500 Speed Freak Bomb Run Award, edging out Skyler Howes (110), Jacob Argubright (911) and Axel Pearson BRABEC CLOSES IN Third win of the season moves Ricky Brabec closer to first championship.
