P30
Break Lite's winning bike was a
2008 Hayabusa that was custom
built for long time customer Bobby Grigas. It was themed WiteOut because – ta-da! everything
on it is white – like every vehicle
Rodrigues owns.
Originally, it was built three
years ago to be basically a bar
cruiser when Break Lite entered
Grigas' brothers' twin bike –
which is black with blue flames –
in an ultimate builder competition
on the International Motorcycle
Show circuit and won. While they
were there they saw the fliers for
the Ultimate Hayabusa competition and opted to enter it with sibling rivalry kicking in.
After they made it through the
semi finals and saw what they
were up against, they needed
to step up their game even more

state-of-art features: the handlebar controls were removed; a
chopper-style pull clutch was
added; and the gauges were replaced to feature a Holley Dominator EFI set up, which is typicalPHOTOGRAPHY BY JASON ABBOTT

AT SURFERCROSS
S
ome of the top motocrossers and surfers in the country
got together earlier this month for the 15th annual SurferCross competition for some friendly competition of surfing
and… motocross, of course.
Surfercross, the brainchild of former motocross tuner and
current JGRMX team technician Jeremy Albrecht, puts riders
and surfers together (via a drawing) in two-man teams (one motocrosser and one surfer) over two days worth of competition –
with one day spent on the track, the other on the beach.
This year's race included a number of moto racers, including Josh Grant, Cooper Webb, Grant Langston, Kyle Parcontinued on page 31
