VOL. 50 ISSUE 9 MARCH 5, 2013 P51 D CHAMPIONSHP (Left to right) Wilson, Hahn and Wharton celebrate on the 250 podium. My Own Race: 18 DAVI MILLSAPS 6TH 450 Points leader Davi Millsaps suffered his poorest finish of the year with sixth (which still isnt too bad), some of which had to do with a sore arm. It wasnt the worst night, but it wasnt the best, he said while getting his arm wrapped by trainer and former Supercross star Ezra Lusk. I did my best with what I could. I had a lot of bobbles in the first start and [Trey] Canard smashed me and bruised up my arm pretty good, and I could barely move it. It got real tight after that and then I got into it with Dungey, too. I gave it my all and thats what I can say. 17 ELI TOMAC 13TH 450 After falling in his heat, GEICO Hondas Eli Tomac made the 450 main via the LCQ. But a stomach ailment held him back on this night, but he got what he really needed, more experience on the 450. Its been a little rough going so far, but Im getting valuable experience and putting in the laps. Ill be with these guys full time next year, so right now its all right. 5 RYAN DUNGEY 4TH 450 Red Bull KTMs Ryan Dungey finished off the podium for the second week in a row but seemed upbeat about his performance. It wasnt too bad tonight, he said. I was about sixth after the restart and made a couple of quick passes happen. It was a hard-fought battle to the end because Chad was riding good, and Stewy, too. We played a little cat and mouse there for a bit, but the track was nice and technical and physical, too. We lost a few more points to Villopoto, but were only halfway [in the series] now, so we can try to turn this around and do some damage. 77 JEREMY MARTIN 5TH 250 25 MARVIN MUSQUIN 4TH 250 Star Racing Yamahas Jeremy Martin had another strong outing in only his third ever Supercross race. Martin, who has been training at the Carmichael compound down in Florida, says he is figuring things out each week a little bit more. He set the fastest practice time of the 250s in the second practice session, then finished fifth in the main. Each time I go out, Im learning a little bit more and just seeing how it works, Martin said. Im getting more comfortable on the track, too, and Im also learning a ton down in Florida. Im happy with the two fifths Ive got. Of course, we want more, but Ill take steps towards that. Red Bull KTMs Marvin Musquin has been struggling with small crashes so far in the 250 East Series. The Frenchman has finished sixth, third and now fourth in the first three races and is looking for better results. Everyone is riding really good, and I need better starts, he said. I havent been up front on any of the starts so far. Tonight, the first lap was tough because I kept going outside in the turns and the guys would get by me. Then I went down in the sand when I was in fourth, but I got up quick. I thought I was riding good but then Wilson pulled away from me, I was surprised.
