T
he radar might have been
fully operational, but no one
noticed that small blip that
belonged to one Davi Millsaps.
Going into the opening round of
the 2013 Monster Energy AMA
Supercross Series in Anaheim,
all the talk was on veteran racers
and former Supercross champs
Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey,
James Stewart and Chad Reed,
as well as newcomer Justin Barcia, but after what was an exciting 20-lap main event, all the talk
centered on Millsaps, the veteran
racer who was making his first
start on a new team and was not
given much thought before the
race.
"I actually like it that way," Millsaps said of being the ignored
underdog.
Millsaps is no stranger to
crossing the finish line first. The
24-year-old racer from Georgia
has three Supercross victories
to his name, but a host of injuries slowed his progress since
his last win in San Diego, but that
was nearly three years and 46
races ago. Since then, he's experienced a couple of blown out
knees and the removal of his kidney, but a recharged and physically fit Millsaps can now add a
fourth win to his resume after a
stunning and impressive performance at Angel Stadium.
